Almay intense i-color

I am so in love right now with all this make up that is designed for your specific eye color.  I am starting to see that all the different drugstore brands are starting to make it.  I also am finding that since they are suppose to make your eye color stand out more and pop that alot of them for blue eyes-like myself-are the same brown and gold colors!  I still buy it anyway :o/  Can't help myself!  So this is called Almay intense i-color shadow stick.
This product was around $7.00  It is a duel ended stick with both a darker color and highlighting color designed to intensify your eye color.  It is "crease proof" which I can say for the most part seems to be.  I wore mine for hours with very little creasing.
The first one of these I bought, one of the ends was broken when I opened the package, so I am going to try to go back and return it.  When I purchased it again (elsewhere) I just held it upside down to see if either of the colors wiggled around in the case to make sure they weren't broken.  Just a tip.
I went and checked out the website for this product and found a little video on how to apply it which is nice.  It turns out to be pretty common sense though.  You apply the dark brown (for blue eyes) on your eyelid and the gold color on your brow bone.  I actually found a picture on their sight of the product on a blue eye and used that instead to try to copy.  That is why I applied the gold under my eye as well, and I really liked the effect.
I think it is pretty easy to blend the product and easy to apply.  It goes on creamy almost but once it's dry feels like normal eyeshadow. This was the first time using it and I really like how it came out.  If I can do it-it's pretty much fool proof. :)

You can also build the product up for more intensity if you want to, making the colors darker and more intense.  The above pic I went for a little darker, and below pic shows a little lighter.
Like I said, I really like these products designed for specific eye color.  It gives you prefectly matched shades that are complimentary for your eyes.
The green and hazel eye shadow sticks have really pretty colors, but I stuck with blue since I knew the effect would be best.
Have you tried any of these "eye color specific" products?  Have a great weekend! Thanks for reading :)

Revlon Just Bitten

I was shopping around the other day and thought "Hey! I have never tried a lipstain before, I should try that!" and so I did.  There were not a ton of colors in stock so I went with Twilight.  Yes, I like the books and movies-lets just get that out of the way right now. Anyway, it is a darker color than I usually go for but like I said there wasn't a ton to choose from.  I think this product came out a couple of years ago, I remember a commerical with Jessica Biel laying in a flower field trying to play off the Twilight movies.  The commerical didn't impress me, but curiousity finally got the best of me.

It is hard to tell what color you are going to get from the packaging.  I was expecting a more pink than red color.
This is how it works:  one end is like a marker, yup, like you are coloring your lips with a marker.  The other end is a lip balm.  One side stains your lips and the other side softens and moisturizes them.
Once the stain dries you don't have to worry about it smearing or coming off from eating, kissing or whatever... I literally tried to rub off the color with my hand and couldn't.
Once the stain has dried you need to apply the balm to moisturize because the stain is drying and doesn't really look right without the balm.
I wanted to show you this picture because when I applied the stain my lips were chapped and you can see that the stain did not absorb where my lips were dry.  If you have very chapped lips apply some chapstick first and then take that off and use the stain-otherwise the color won't go on even.  Also make sure you only put the stain where you want it!!

This is how it looks finished with the balm.  It looks quite nice and feels quite nice.
The balm sort of fixes and smoothes out the lipstain.
Overall I liked this product and would recommend it but it's not something I am going to stock up on.  Have you ever tried lipstain?  Thanks for reading! xxoo, Heather Honey

NOTW

Hello! I am sharing my all time favorite polish today.  I absolutely LOVE this color and formula.
It is Essie's Mint Candy Apple.  I love this color, I just think it is so pretty and fun. I have gotten many compliments on this color!
Out of every nail polish I have ever tried, this is my absolute favorite formula.  I don't think I can really describe it, but it's not too thick, not too runny.  It just goes on so easy and smooth.  I do use a couple of coats and get a nice smooth finish.
In my opinion I think this color just goes with just about every season-summer, spring, and winter.  It's pretty enough to wear in fall too, why not!
I guess I really like the color -it's just about the same color as the wall we painted! :)
This is "the one" for me.  Do share, what is your favorite color nail polish?  xxoo, Heather Honey

Queen Helene Grape Seed Extract Peel Off Masque

This is another Queen Helene mask.  This one is Antioxidant Grape Seed Extract Peel Off Masque.  I prefer the wash off masks to the peel off but if you like peel off then this one might be for you.  This mask as you can see says it "cleans clogged pores, softens facial lines, soothes and tones skin."  I think that this mask or "masque" does help clear your pores.  I don't think that it softened any facial lines though.  I don't use it on a regular basis so maybe if I did it would do more but I only use it when my skin is feeling extra gross.

This formla is easy to apply, it is a thick liquid that you just spread over your face.  It also has a pleasant scent.
I wash my face before applying so that it can really get the grime in my pores since I have already taken care of the surface dirt and oil.
When it dries it is literally a shiny shiny clear SMOOTH surface, it's kind of cool actually. :)  This picture looks like my face is wet but it's completely dry.  It starts to peel along the edges of the mask and this gives you a base to pull it off.
This part grosses some people out and some people find it really fun.  I have friends who think both. Haha. You can literally pull it off all in one piece if you have applied it evenly and thick enough.  I have a picture of it with a solid circle with just a hole where my eyes and mouth were but I fall in the catergory of finding it kinda gross so I didn't post it. Haha. You will have to just try it for yourself!
After I removed it I just took a warm wet washcloth and wiped off any residue.  My skin was very soft, and smooth.  I do think it helps on days when you feel your skin needs a little extra help. I think it really helps get rid of some of the dead skin cells.
I would recommend this mask, especially if you like the peel away kind.  I prefer the wash away kind: like this one HERE .  Whatever floats your boat!  Hope you are having a great weekend!  XO, Heather Honey

Dr. Seuss and Lip Butter

Happy Friday everyone! :)

I've mentioned I'm a teacher and I am so proud of these cupcakes I made my students today for Dr. Seuss' brithday! The first picture is the swirl I put through them with just some food coloring and then the second is with the frosting and sprinkles! I just had to share :)
Anywho!
On with the makeup!  I have already done a post on Revlon's Lip Butter's but I had to share this new color I got! I love it! It's called Berry Smoothie.
I feel comfortable wearing this color anywhere! The other 2 colors I previously have gotten are a little bright for some occasions. I'm really loving these Lip Butters, they are so comfortable on my lips.
Sometimes it just takes a couple of tries to find the "one"!
Thanks for reading!! xoxo, Heather Honey

Nars Laguna

I thought I would do a post while the snow falls down outside.  I thought it was gone for the winter but I was wrong!!  I had a lovely birthday a couple of nights ago and now have a bunch of make up to review for you all.  I wanted to share this famous bronzer first though.  When I purchased the blush I also had to try the bronzer.  Confession: I've never used bronzer!!! I decided that my pale winter face was going to look a little tanner from now on, and I went and purchased Nars Laguna.  Everyone says it is great so I thought I would go for it!

I actually really like the black packaging with a nice big mirror in it- very convenient.
It is a lot darker than it looks in these photos.  It's much more brown, but it shows up as a very subtle tan on my skin.  It's a nice shade because with such fair skin it wouldn't look natural if it was a more obvious color. With flash:
 Without flash:
You get a lot of product with this!  It's still expensive but you do get a lot.  This is in comparison to the blush, so you could see how much larger it is.
This is me wearing both the blush and bronzer.  I know it's not the best photo but my husband and I were out the door.  I can see a difference in my skin, if you look at my face then my neck you can see my face looks a little more tan. (Not the best thing but I'll pretend I did it for your benfit-I wanted you to see how well the product worked, haha)  I like this product and have been using it every day! I also have to say the blush has been great as well.  I don't have any other bronzer to compare it to but I can't find anything wrong with it (except maybe the price)! :)  Thanks for reading! xo, Heather Honey
