Mascara

 I bought this Maybelline Unstoppable Mascara a while ago, and thought I would share my opinion of it.  It has lasted about a year now I think, maybe more.  I don't wear make up everyday but having it for so long shows that it doesn't dry out.  I really loved this product when I got it.  It made my eyelashes look SO long. 

 I have almost run out of it, I can tell there isn't a lot left and will have to pick up a new mascara.  There are so many good ones out there right now that I think I will try something new.  I do really love this one and think it does a great job but I just really like to try new things.

 I've always curled my eyelashes after I applied mascara but very recently have started to curl then apply.  I find the results to be about the same, but if I've used a lot of mascara it can clump the lashes together if I curl after.  Which order do you curl and apply?

L'Oreal Eye Makeup Remover

 I use the LOreal Eye Makeup remover after I've taken a shower and washed my face.  It will get off the last of the mascara or eyeliner I've been wearing.

The only product I haven't been able to remove is the Colorstay Eyeliner I showed in my last blog post.  That stuff is like removing permant marker.

As you can see it does a good job removing mascara and eyeshadow that the face wash didn't quite get.  It works well and you can get right at the drugstore.

Revlon ColorStay Eyeshadow

 I purchased the Revlon ColorStay eyeshadow and eyeliner in 345 Sterling Rose.  I thought that they were pretty shades and I liked that the eyeliner came too.  Though the pictures I took of the eyeliner came out blurry I will say that it was impossible to remove.  ColorStay is right!  I used my face wash and my eye make up remover and it still wouldn't budge. I ended up using a trick my grandmother taught me.  You take night cream and wipe it off with that.  I finally got it off, but I think I could cry up a storm and be safe with that stuff on. 

 On the back of the package it came with some simple non-helpful directions on how to apply the shadow.  Dark on crease, etc. etc.  There are four shades but only three on the packaging so you choose the three you want to blend.

The pigmentation is very nice.  I swatched it to show the shimmer and color.

 The eyeliner goes on smooth and is easy to apply.  I liked how you twist it and it just rolls up-no sharpening.

This was with the gray color, and below is the lighter pink color. 

 

I think this might look nice doing smokey eye but I'm not sure I could make that look right. Maybe with some practice!

Foundation

I picked this foundation up a couple of years ago.  That's right, I said years.  I hardly use foundation.  I have pretty clear skin but I have noticed that it's not always even toned.  It never really bothered me, but since purchasing mineral foundation I have noticed that if I apply the liquid under the mineral it does leave my skin a lot more flawless looking.  I have been trying this combination out a little lately.  I don't feel like the mineral foundation has much coverage without the liquid under it.  The Maybelline instant age rewind foundation has great coverage.  This above picture shows the most accurate color.

 My color for fall, winter, spring is the lightest shade they had at the time of purchase: porcelain ivory. Yup, I have really, really light skin.   

   I am not sure why I bought the age rewind foundation, I think I was just looking for the correct color foundation.  I certainly did not need that when I purchased it, but it's been a couple of years and it isn't going to hurt any!

 I have really light skin, you can see the spot that is lighter on my hand where I blended it in.  It covers most flaws well and it evens out my skin color.  I can get some redness around my nose and chin and this covers it well.

 I would purchase this again, it has held up for a couple of years now!  I will do a review on the mineral powder to show the combination of the two.  I also like that there is some sunscreen (SPF 18) in this product.  I have heard that you should really wear sunscreen everyday to help protect your skin and this and my daily face lotion have a little of that in there.

 This product does it's job well, and hides my imperfections!

Lipcolor

Wet n Wild Mega Last Long Wear Lip color is a good alternative to the more expensive long lasting lip brands.  It has cute packaging and it come in some nice colors.

 If you are unfamiliar with how the product works you apply the color and then put on the clear topcoat to seal in the color. 

 The top picture shows the pretty color (this one is 365) alone and the bottom picture is with the shiny top coat.  So shiny :)

The only thing is that though this product claims to be long lasting it doesn't last all that much longer than any other lip gloss.  I found it lasts just as long or a little longer but nothing spectacular.  For just a few bucks though I wouldn't expect too much.  It's just a pretty lip gloss!

Perfume

A little while back I did something a little impulsive.  I decided to order something off of the Sephora website- a perfume!! without ever having smelled it. 

 I liked that the perfume came in a little set with a body/hair wash.  It even came in a little black bag with with draw string.  Very nice, very pretty, the actual scent however would be a surprise. 

 I have used both the perfume and the body wash.  The body wash can be used all over, even in your hair, which I tried out.  I have long hair so I had to condition it after so I wouldn't waste the product on washing my hair again.  The scent gets washed away by the conditioner.  The scent does stay on your skin very faintly and it makes your skin soft.

I chose this scent without smelling it because: 1) it has a pretty name 2) it was purple and I like purple!!  Now here is the conclusion:  on my body chemistry it smells like cotton candy!!!  I kid you not!  I probably won't make this purchase again, not that I don't like the smell of cotton candy but because it's not what I was expecting.  Lesson learned, smell it before you buy it!! ;)

Body Shop Lotion

I have these two lovely Body Shop products that I thought I would share. 

The first is Strawberry Body Butter.  It smells amazing.  I love the smell of this, it makes you want to eat it!!  The body butter is a thicker lotion.  It has strawberry seed oil in it to moisturize your skin. It also has cocoa butter and shea butter. It is designed for normal skin.

I really just use this product on my hands but I think you are suppose to use it all over.  I like the thickness of it more for my hands though, I feel like it stays on longer.

 The second is Moroccan Rose Body Butter, and again it smells amazing!  It says: "Beautiful skin softening, with precious oil from roses hand-picked at dawn."

 This one is not as thick as my strawberry body butter, but it leaves more of an oily feel to it when applied.  I mostly just use this on my hands as well, but I think it would be easier to apply to the body because it's not quite so thick.  It has shea butter, organic babassu oil and organically grown soya oil.  It is designed for normal/dry skin.

 Yum!

Powder Brush

  I purchased my first brush.  I bought some new mineral foundation so I decided I needed to buy a brush to apply it.  It was not very expensive.  It's called a high definition power brush.  I believe it's by the brand Paris Presents.  It's description is: "High-defintion is the latest technology in color cosmetics, developed for glamorous, picture-prefect results. This brush, with its tapered cut and quality design, works perfectly to give you that celebrity look every day."
   I really don't have much to compare this brush to.  I have used brushes that have come with products but they have never been anything special.  I picked this one because it was really soft, and I thought a powder brush would be versitile though I don't know that I'll use it on anything other than the powder foundation I bought.  It seems to work well.  It picks up the powder easily and is very soft like I said.  I would buy it again!  It's fun to use. :)

NOTW

 This nail polish is called Mama-San by Sinful Colors professional.  I had never tried this brand out before but was drawn to the metallic rosy color.  It seemed appropriate for fall.

 It is very shiny and looks really nice in the sun-making it actually sparkle a little.  In regular lighting the sparkle is gone but the metallic shine is still there.  In these pictures I am wearing two coats.  I have only one coat on my toes and it looks just as nice and has lasted with no chips a few days.  For an inexpensive nail polish I think it's worth the buy.  I am not usually drawn to metallic polish but I was really drawn to this one.

The Body Shop Coconut Oil Hair Shine

This smells soooo yummy!!! It makes me think of summer and the beach!

 I have long hair so I find this product can make my hair a little greasy looking if I'm not careful making sure to only apply it VERY lightly.  I apply it mostly to the ends and lightly over the top layer-trying to get rid of the frizz. I don't feel like my hair really needs it because I have very healthy hair but it does make my hair smell good all day.

It is slighty sparkly but not really noticable when in your hair.

   The packaging claims that it "smooths, adds shine, conditions and repairs."  It says to "smooth over dry hair."  It is made with pure coconut oil and is for all hair types.

                                        Even my kitty likes how it smells!! ;o)
